Russia, Turkey, Slovenia... the desire for quality knows no boundaries and Rüegg expands their export levels. Rüegg renewed its communication and developed a new slogan: „as long as there is wood“. |

Rüegg brought a world first onto the market: Zumik®on, a particle separator, which eliminates 60 to 90% of respirable dust created by wood fires. |

In the presence of over 250 chimney building companies from all over Europe, Rüegg celebrated their 50 year jubilee. Walter Rüegg withdrew from the company, but continued to monitor the development of the energy source wood. Rüegg surprised everyone with the extremely innovative CookCook, a device which combines the pleasure of cooking, comfort and way of life. |

As the first private industrial company in their sector Rüegg received a research assignment from the federal government. The club for creative fireplace builders expanded into Germany. |

Rüegg made the newest design accents with the new products THEMA, THEMA TOP and OMEGA. Rüegg achieved a further mile stone as the first chimney/fireplace manufacturer with an ISO 9001-certification. |

The «Club for the creators of chimneys» was founded in France. This ground breaking partner system stands for individual and high quality chimney/fireplace building within the sector. The sons took on the management of the company. |
1994 |
Peter Rüegg, biologist entered the family company as the development manager. The effective combination of ecology and economy manifested itself more and more as the credo of Rüegg. The «Rüegg fire gallery», leading exhibition for fireplaces and ovens, opened in Dietlikon. |

1991 |
Rüegg constructed the first post combustion system for chimney/fire places. This technology guaranteed the highest level of efficiency while at the same time reducing the amount of pollutants by 60% and lowering the wood used by 40%. |
1988 |
Rüegg designed a chimney with an angular glass ceramic sheet and in this way invented the prism shaped fire place - a further mile stone in the sector. Rüegg improves the partnership with handicraft companies and from 1st April 1988 delivered to exclusive specialist companies, who could guarantee a perfect installation |

The successful family company Rüegg Cheminée AG was strengthened by the entrance into the company of two of the five children of the founder. Markus Rüegg, architect and energy specialist supported his father in technical areas and became the development manager. Matthias Rüegg, a certified stove fitter, took over the function of the head of marketing and later dealt with all the export matters.

After he had developed numerous other ideas - but had not realised all of them, Walter Rüegg began to sell his devices abroad. First in Germany, then in France, Austria, Benelux and later even in the USA. Rüegg products are valued everywhere because of their design, high quality and high performance. |
1973 |
Walter Rüegg developped the chimney/fireplace with a glass sheet which could be slid upwards. In no time at all a conventional, open fire place was born, which gave the smell and the comfort of crackling wood, but was also a highly efficient heat source. |
1959 |
The dedicated craftsman constructed the first heat chimney with a closed combustion chamber and had his revolutionary idea patented. This invention soon made its way into the world. |
1955 |
Walter Rüegg, a young stove fitter became self-employed in the village of Zumikon. He visited his customers with a bicycle and a trailer to install fireplaces and tiled stoves. |
